- Metro Police are searching for the 18-year-old son of a man and woman found dead in a mobile home in the eastern Las Vegas Valley on Wednesday afternoon. Police said they are looking for Timothy Chester. A daughter of the victims found her mother with a knife in her neck and her father, lifeless, next to her at the Heritage Mobile Home Park.

- Metro Police today are asking for the public's help in finding a man caught on videotape during a robbery last week at a Las Vegas Strip casino. The man walked into the high limit slot counter about 3:05 a.m. Friday and demanded money from the clerk, police said. The man then left the casino with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen running to the parking lot of a nearby hotel and fleeing on a red sport motorcycle, police said.

- Bob Stupak, a Las Vegas legend who developed the Stratosphere and called himself the Polish Maverick, died today at Desert Springs Hospital after a long illness. He was 67. After an unconventional boyhood in Pittsburgh he came to Las Vegas, where he survived a motorcycle crash and sparred with gaming regulators. In his early days, Stupak delved into pop music and motorcycle drag racing before he began selling coupon books.

- A Metro Police arrest report released today after 86-year-old Joseph Woods was arrested Thursday for allegedly shooting his 80-year-old wife, Kay, reveals new details of the murder-attempted suicide case. Joseph Woods remains in critical condition at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his side. He was booked in absentia on Thursday into the Clark County Detention Center. The Clark County District Attorney's Office had not filed a criminal complaint as of this morning, a spokeswoman said.

Woods is in critical condition at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center after a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his chest, police said. Police said Thursday afternoon that Woods allegedly shot his wife in the back.

- The man who shot himself after telling Metro Police he killed his wife and put her in a freezer for almost two years has been identified as 60-year-old Mark Byron Helwig of Las Vegas, the Clark County Coroner's Office said this morning. Helwig sent a note to Metro Police's Records Section and officers went to check on the couple's welfare after receiving the mail last week. When officers arrived about 1:52 p.m. Thursday to the home in the 1500 block of Willowbark Court near West Charleston Boulevard and Fort Apache Road, they received no response to a knock on the door, police said.

The woman, 29-year-old Sarah Elizabeth Wayson of Las Vegas, died of multiple gunshot wounds and the death was ruled a homicide, a spokeswoman for the coroner's office said today. Wayson was the daughter of the late Edward Wayson, an influential lawyer and lobbyist in Annapolis, Md., who supported gambling interests in his state and who died at age 54 in 2004 from a heart condition.
