Metro Police have arrested an 18-year-old man wanted in connection with the death of a 16-month-old boy. He is being held without bail.

Metro detectives arrested Joquise Coleman Wednesday night on a warrant, police said. He is charged with murder by child abuse and two counts of child abuse with substantial bodily harm, police said.

Coleman was taken to the Clark County Detention Center.

Police said he had been caring for Lamaj Terry while the toddler's mother went to work last week, police said. The boy was rushed to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he died the next day from injuries including blunt force trauma to his head and abdomen, police said.

Two neighbors in an apartment complex in east Las Vegas found the boy on a bed with no adult in the apartment, police said.
