Henderson man who died in morning crash identified

Crash Location

A man involved in a fatal single-car crash this morning in Henderson has been identified as 49-year-old Michael J. Douglas, the Clark County Coroner's Office said.

The cause and manner of death have not been determined, a spokeswoman for the coroner's office said.

The man's Volkswagon Jetta was traveling east on St. Rose Parkway near Coronado Center Drive when the car veered off the pavement about 3:30 a.m., said Officer Todd Rasmussen, spokesman for the Henderson Police Department.

The Jetta struck a traffic light pole, Rasmussen said. Douglas, of Henderson, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency paramedics, he said.

The crash is still under investigation.
