Pedestrian walking on I-15 killed near speedway

A person walking north along Interstate 15 between the 215 Beltway and the Las Vegas Speedway was struck and killed this morning, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The incident occurred about 7:30 a.m., but troopers are still investigating the circumstances.

Travelers going north on Interstate 15 were diverted to the right shoulder of the freeway as investigators examined the scene, the highway patrol said.

The pedestrian will be identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office.
