Basic 45, Foothill 35
Rancho, unfortunately, won't win a game this fall.
Canyon Springs 50, Rancho 0
Rayshawn Henderson will make life miserable for the Rams.
Canyon Springs 40, Rancho 12
The speed of Andrew Moreland is the difference in Las Vegas' victory.
Las Vegas 30, Green Valley 27
I'm also high on Moreland, but he hasn't seen a defense like Green Valley's.
Green Valley 27, Las Vegas 16
Silverado, as witnessed in staying close last week against Canyon Springs, is definitely a playoff team.
Silverado 36, Valley 20
Skyhawks smash Vikings.
Silverado 42, Valley 20
After getting past Coronado last week, Liberty won't be challenged until playoffs.
Liberty 49, Del Sol 15
Liberty's defense is too much for Del Sol to even keep it close.
Liberty 34, Del Sol 6
Coronado should finish second in the Southeast.
Coronado 48, Eldorado 6
Kevin Lucero and Cody Mucino is an underrated one-two punch for the Cougars.
Coronado 40, Eldorado 15
Arbor View's defense might be the best in town.

Two weeks away from Arbor View at Palo Verde.
Arbor View 33, Shadow Ridge 13
Palo Verde makes quick work of the Mountain Lions.

Watch out for the Longhorns down the stretch.
Legacy 29, Desert Oasis 20
Remember when Bishop Gorman and Bonanza was a rivalry? I do.

Pahrump 22, Western 6
Moapa Valley wins another 'Hammer Game' rivalry
Moapa Valley 46, Virgin Valley 10
More like the 'Nail Game' for Virgin Valley. Moapa Valley is the hammer.
Moapa Valley 35, Virgin Valley 7
Here's my upset of the week: Cheyenne can't stop Faith Lutheran's offense.

Hey Case, you need to "correct" your Desert Pines Pick, you have Cheyenne listed instead of Chaparral...
Ray
You're crazy if you think centennial can score 50 on cm. Centennial has struggled on o all year and cm has played good d with Gorman being the exception.
Last Week 17-1 Season 89-24
Basic 58 Foothill 22
Sorry Foothill you don't have Green Valley's
defense. Basic won't ease off the gas against this rival.
Canyon Springs 45 Rancho 10
Hunky can use this practice game to fine tune his machine for playoffs
Green Valley 44 Las Vegas 14
Will either say "told you so" or eating crow for over ranked Vegas.
Silverado 40 Valley 22
I can't figure out Silverado but know Valley and Rancho wish they were in Div1A
Liberty 45 Del Sol 10
Last weeks loss to Foothill essentially killed any chance Del Sol had of sneaking into playoffs
Coronado 45 Eldorado 7
Still don't get how Eldorado landed in SE and GV/Silverado in NE.
Arbor View 44 Shadow Ridge 10
Just a couple of practice games left for Arbor View before their showdown with Palo.
Palo Verde 45 Sierra Vista 7
Palo setting up a winner takes all season finally against Arbor View.
Durango 44 Spring Valley 18
Durango looking in from outside the top 10 but clearly better than a lot of the rest
Legacy 35 Desert Oasis 20
Desert Oasis is better than their record indicates, but not as good as Legacy
Bonanza 33 Bishop Gorman 30
Hell freezes over and a lifetime movie is made of this historic upset. Just kidding Gorman by 70.
Centennial 55 Cim-Mem 14
I would almost rather miss the playoffs rather than get 3rd or 4th in SW and meet Arbor/Palo first round.
Cheyenne 40 Faith Lutheran 20
Only two games left until playoffs for Div IA, Cheyenne has the talent they just need to sharpen up.
Mojave 40 Clark 10
Unfortunately for Clark their win streak ends at one.
Pahrump V 20 Western 16
Would love to be wrong, Western's boys deserve a win. But a win here pretty much locks up 4 seed and playoff spot for Pahrump.
Moapa V 38 Virgin Valley 10
Moapa is playing the part of pre-season Cheyenne as the favorite in Div IA
Desert Pines 33 Chaparral 14
Desert Pines can't afford a hangover from last weeks big win
Boulder C. 40 Sunrise Mtn 10
Boulder City rebounds against outmatched Miners
Thanks, Keith. Darn "Ch" schools.
Ray,
Do you really think that the Arbor View D is better than what they have on Hualapai Way?
Tuasdad,
Are u serious with centennial score? I thought ray was crazy but apparently that's becoming the general consensus.
Guru, I wouldn't be shocked if the final result is a lot closer. Cim-Mem's defense isn't bad and I was either going to call it 30-10 or what I ended up going with. The difference for me was that Centennial besides being the better team, also wants to win and convincingly.
They won't take Cim-Mem lightly because it's the only team in the SW has a realistic chance to beat them and take their #2 spot in SW. They don't want to slip up here and take a chance at getting #3. More importantly I guarantee the coaches won't call off the dogs. They want to beat Cim-Mem as bad as they are able to in order to build some confidence heading into their league game against Gorman.
Here we go with this weeks picks
Basic over Foothill
This track meet will be won by basic, lots of scoring
Canyon Springs over Rancho
Is it me or am I the only one who would like to see Pumphrey get more carries.
Green Valley over Las Vegas
Not really sure who wins this one, but Green Valley has looked better
Silverado over Valley
Silverado played Canyon better than expected
Liberty over Del Sol
Liberty not playing like a team that is going to challenge Gorman or even compete against them, they need to step it up if Gorman is their destiny
Coronado over Eldorado
John Wayne stars in this action packed western about a Sheriff who goes after the men who robbed the bank and punishes them winning by 35 points
Arbor View over Shadow Ridge
Arbor is turning into a mean team , watch out!
Palo over Sierra Vista
Palo win streak continues, proving they are a top ten team
Durango over Spring Valley
Durango needs to win this game, the big guns for this team need to step up and start blastin
Legacy over Desert Oasis
Its time for Legacy to make a move if they want to be in the playoffs and make a difference
Gorman over Bonanza
Can we start running the clock now so Gorman don't score 200.
Centennial over Cimarron
Centennial has nice uniforms
Mojave over Clark
You do know I would pick Mojave over Gorman .I didn't say they would win, but I would still pickem!.
Pahrump over Western
rooting for Western but don't think they can pull it off on the road
Moapa over Virgin
Moapa got Gansta on Boulder last week with the beat down, will probable do the same to Virgin
Cheyenne over Faith
don't be surprised if Faith wins, passing attack is hard to handle
Desert Pines over Chaparral
We will see what Chap and Ray Brewer are about. Gear up Ray!
Boulder over Sunrise
Boulder bounces back and makes this game very physical
Tuasdad,
I buy that logic. I think it will be close and I'll give centennial the edge at home.
At Keefer: Joe Delgado as a Coach of the Year candidate? Couldn't agree more! Great coaching and tons of talented youth. Thats a recipe for success!
At Ray: Upset of the week? Couple div-1a all city WRs and an all city TE vs Mr Lewis? Thats not close to being fair. Chey-Town wins by 30.
At Coach Earl: You and I are picking Centennial for the same reason.
Green Valley vs Las Vegas = Game of the week!
s4,
Have you been watching the same football games aqs the rest of us? Cheyenne by 30??? Cheyenne has some great players to be sure but not sure where you're getting all-city WRs / TE. I'll take my Pirates in that game every day and twice on Friday night. Pirates by 20... 8-}
Aloha,
My nephews play at multiple schools, but the "WORSE" is Sierra Vista hands down.
When the heck are they getting rid of those coaches???????
I truly want to say something worse than the above, but I'll keep it private (no comment).
I think after reading tuasdad comments for the last couple of years, he probably has potential.
Tuasdad, you up for it??? I swear with that mouth, you're definitely are the front-runner.
Bro, not intended in a negative or bad way. Being seriously truthful. You're the Man no matter what other people say.
God Bless, Gil
lol, thanks Gil that's nice of you to say. I'll stick to enjoying and discussing hsfb, the only thing i'll ever coach is my daughters soccer games.
I wish there was more incentive to attract better coaches or help improve and develop the ones we have. It may seem selfish to spend on a sport during these economic times but a good coach leads kids and kids in turn have self esteem and pride and that can have a positive affect on the school as a whole. That goes for all sports.
Ray, here is a good Big Gulp bet. When will the running clock start. Translated, when will Gorman have a 40 point lead? Against Bonanza, the point will be 4 minutes remaining in the second quarter. Sooner than 4 minutes (over) Later than 4 minutes (under).
They need to start running the clock now.
Also school district keeps some good coaches away. I don't understand some of the decisions they make.
Boys, FYI, the running clock rule is only in effect for the second half. Technically, if both coaches agree, it could start earlier, but the rule states 42 point difference in the second half I believe.
Side note, Sanchez does a good job managing the score in games where teams appear outmatched.
Last Week: 17-1 Season Record: 92-20
Basic 49 Foothill 27
Canyon Springs 54 Rancho 0
Green Valley 34 Las Vegas 33
Silverado 35 Valley 7
Liberty 56 Del Sol 12
Coronado 49 Eldorado 7
Arbor View 49 Shadow Ridge 12
Palo Verde 47 Sierra Vista 0
Durango 42 Spring Valley 12
Legacy 33 Desert Oasis 13
Bishop Gorman 64 Bonanza 0
Centennial 35 Cim-Mem 19
Cheyenne 44 Faith Lutheran 24
Mojave 47 Clark 6
Pahrump 19 Western 16
Moapa Valley 34 Virgin Valley 12
Desert Pines 34 Chaparral 22
Boulder City 43 Sunrise Mtn 6
Another week of not very many good match-ups. I can think of three games that would be worth watching:
Moapa vs. Virgin (the best rivalry in the state, sorry Vegas schools your rivalries don't compare to this one!)
Las Vegas vs. Green Valley should be a good one
Basic vs. Foothill- Should be a high scoring game
