Coronado won its final five regular season games last year to take third in the Southeast Division. Returning to the playoffs, however, won't be easy.

The Cougars graduated several key components from last year's team, and first-year coach John Mannion took over for Alex Moore in late May. Because of the last-minute hiring, Coronado wasn't able to attend a contact camp this summer.

"(A camp) would have answered the question of who can hit - who can get physical and really bring it," Mannion said.

Coronado will be led by linebackers Chance Bass and Tyler Tebbs. Top tailback Kenny Lawrence transferred to Del Sol, the school Mannion was the defensive coordinator for last season.
