Keefer's Picks
Last Week:
13-5
58-20 (.744)
Gorman’s physical style of play will be the difference.
Gorman 32, Servite 19
Digging Servite’s all-black uniforms, but the Gaels look more impressive than the Friars on paper.
Bishop Gorman 28, Servite 13
Arbor View isn’t going to be challenged this week.
Arbor View 50, Shadow Ridge 7
Unless Shadow Ridge signs an NFL linebacker between now and Friday, it’s pretty clear how this one will play out.
Arbor View 49, Shadow Ridge 6
Desert Pines finally breaks into the win column after a rough start.
Desert Pines 32, Eldorado 13
As long as the Jaguars aren’t too demoralized over starting the season 0-4, they should be fine here.
Desert Pines 38, Eldorado 14
Green Valley continues to be a pleasant surprise.
Green Valley 38, Coronado 13
Good call by Brewer when he picked Gators to make the playoffs this year, which will seem all but clinched after Saturday.
Green Valley 42, Coronado 29
Moapa Valley is too much for rebuilding Faith Lutheran.
Moapa Valley 46, Faith Lutheran 6
Crusaders have no answer for Conner Mortensen and Sean McConnell.
Moapa Valley 48, Faith Lutheran 20
Anyone have a coin? I’ll go with Sierra Vista in an evenly matched contest.
Sierra Vista 16, Clark 15
Foresee the Mountain Lions pulling off the slight upset here.
Sierra Vista 27, Clark 20
This game will be closer than most think.
Las Vegas 29, Valley 18
Valley has clearly improved, but not to the level necessary to compete with Las Vegas.
Las Vegas 36, Valley 15
Desert Oasis controls its own destiny for hosting a playoff game.
Desert Oasis 40, Spring Valley 13
Done picking against Desert Oasis and Trevon Barnes for the rest of the season.
Desert Oasis 34, Spring Valley 8
Durango gained confidence last week with a lopsided win.
Durango 33, Pahrump Valley 17
Even if Durango looks ahead to next week’s shot at revenge against Desert Oasis, it will be fine Saturday.
Durango 35, Pahrump Valley 6
Everyone in town is rooting for Sunrise Mountain to break its losing streak.
Canyon Springs 58, Sunrise Mountain 6
Canyon Springs will win its next four games to set up the Northeast championship against Las Vegas in the last week of the regular season.
Canyon Springs 49, Sunrise Mountain 0
I’ll take the more athletic team.
Del Sol 32, Liberty 19
Liberty stands strong in one of the most anticipated Henderson games of the year.
Liberty 31, Del Sol 20
Basic seems to give Silverado matchup problems.
Basic 33, Silverado 26
The Wolves are more reliable and likely to capitalize on Silverado’s mistakes.
Basic 24, Silverado 21
Rancho is the best one-win team in Las Vegas.
Rancho 43, Chaparral 12
William Gosse-Gardett should throw for a lot of yards in this one.
Rancho 56, Chaparral 13
This is basically a Northwest Division elimination game in the race for the playoffs.
Legacy 32, Cimarron 24
Would love to see this game. Anyone want to send me a tape?
Cimarron 23, Legacy 21
Centennial continues to get healthy.
Centennial 33, Mojave 16
Congratulations to Mojave for breaking its losing streak, but can’t imagine another win this week.
Centennial 40, Mojave 7
Palo Verde puts an end to Cheyenne’s great start to the season. And it’s not even close.
Palo Verde 42, Cheyenne 13
Are you offering Cheyenne +29? Yes, please.
Palo Verde 31, Cheyenne 16
Bonanza gets back on track after late collapse last week.
Bonanza 42, Western 0
Ironic that Bonanza lost a game in the second half after establishing a comeback identity all season.
Bonanza 34, Western 14
Virgin Valley one win away from winning 3A Southern League title.
Virgin Valley 25, Boulder City 14
Virgin Valley has looked more impressive through four games.
Virgin Valley 34, Boulder City 19

I'm with keefer on Liberty and CM. Sierra Vista's kick returner, who very nearly returned 3 returns for.touchdowns against Gorman (thanks to kicker for.stopping him.twice) will score at least 4 on Clark...
As for Gorman they'll need a mistake free game, no dumb penalties like they had against Hamilton last year. Start the game like the underdog with something.to prove.and play like that all game. If they do.those and run the ball Servite and their stud linebacker won't be able to stop the run.
Gorman 28 Servite 17
liberty will beat so by atleast two touchdowns, they have some amazing athletes. Also that kick returner for sierra vista(justin green)who i mentioned last week would score two touchdowns against gorman was a arm tackle away from breaking four touch downs, but never the less, you were right he needed 10 other guys to block for him.
Liberty not athletic? Are you serious. Weren't you at the Silverado game? The only reason I see why Liberty didn't put up a demoralizing score against the Skyhawks was because they kept screwing up. Liberty made too many mistakes in their first half play. AND these mistakes weren't forced by Silverado. It was more like 'self-destructing' type errors. Luckily, in typical Liberty fashion, they pulled their head out and came out with a predominantly 'ground & pound strategy' in the 2nd half. Did you see how easily they marched down the field with that crazy 3-back I formation. It takes athleticism to do that! The Silverado D-lineman were repeatedly pushed to their linebackers on the snap. It won't be any different for Del Sol. Coaching is pretty darn good at Del Sol, but you need all 11 guys doing what they're coached and hope all 11 are mentally AND physically strong enough to garner the desired result of the coaching or calls. Del Sol may have some speed, but so did Las Vegas High last year in Sunrise Regional finals. Their speed was rendered insignificant by running into the immovable power of Patriot brick walls. Should be a fun game though. The Patriots are aware of your outlook on the game Ray! Glad to say that it does nothing but motivate them so what you've said is actually a great thing! Hoping for a hard-fought, injury-free game for both teams this weekend! Liberty will most likely break 50 points on their way to the victory! Yeah baby!!
