Another game against the Utah Grizzlies -- another loss for the Las Vegas Wranglers.
Despite forcing overtime for the first instance this season, the Wranglers were still unable to topple their arch nemesis as the Grizzlies pulled out a 3-2 victory in front of 2,280 fans at the E-Center on Sunday.

The Wranglers' affinity for the penalty box and inability to stop the Grizzlies' power play combined for a nasty result Friday night as Utah shutout Las Vegas 4-0 in front of a near sell-out crowd of 9,304 fans at the E-Center.

As the Las Vegas Wranglers prepare for a three-game road trip against the Utah Grizzlies, they will have to do so without some of their top point producers.
The Wranglers (6-8) announced Monday that the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League recalled forwards Justin Bernhardt and Matt Watkins. The Wranglers also loaned defenseman Robbie Bina to the Rampage on Monday.

The Las Vegas Wranglers' fight-filled and penalty-laden victory over the Alaska Aces Saturday night has officially resulted in two suspensions. The ECHL announced Monday it suspended Las Vegas goalie Michael Ouzas and Alaska defenseman B.J. Crum one game each after both players received game misconducts at the Orleans Arena on Saturday. The league also fined each player an undisclosed amount.

The Las Vegas Wranglers certainly know how to start a party.
Despite playing three games in as many nights, the Wranglers showed no signs of fatigue as they used a late scoring binge to knock off the Alaska Aces 6-3 in front of 4,321 fans at the Orleans Arena Saturday night.
The Wranglers scored five third period goals, including three goals within the first five minutes of the period for their second consecutive victory and to set up a celebratory Saturday.

After suffering a blowout loss to the Alaska Aces Thursday night, Las Vegas Wranglers coach Ryan Mougenel issued a stern challenge to his young squad -- return the next night with a lot of passion or find a new team to play for.

Nearly five months have past since the Alaska Aces celebrated on the Orleans Arena ice after capturing the National Conference championship with a four-game sweep of the Las Vegas Wranglers.
The Aces' revelry picked up right where it left off last spring as Alaska blasted the Wranglers 5-2 in front of 3,107 fans Thursday night.
Alaska capitalized twice on five power play chances, while also scoring two shorthanded goals en route to tying a franchise record best start of 4-0. The Wranglers are still win-less at 0-2.

When head coach and general manager Ryan Mougenel took the reins of the Las Vegas Wranglers, he knew one of his first priorities was fixing last year's anemic power play.
The rookie head coach searched for a way to transport one of the ECHL's worst special teams units from the proverbial outhouse to the luxurious penthouse. To do so, Mougenel literally took his squad to a penthouse at the Palms to hold a meeting about his power play system.
The motivational tactic already appears to have paid off as the Wranglers scored three power play goals en route to dropping the Ontario Reign 5-2 in the preseason opener Thursday night at the Orleans Arena.
Youngest Wrangler draws attention with goal-scoring abilities

A few months ago John Morea didn't even know Las Vegas had a hockey team.
But the Wranglers will certainly know who Morea is if his performance in the intra-squad scrimmage Tuesday night is a sign of the future.
The 20-year-old Brooklyn native scored twice Tuesday night as the white squad defeated the black unit 4-0 during the 40-minute scrimmage at the Orleans Arena.

Two new defensemen joined the squad over the weekend to bring the total number of skaters in camp to 25.

A high pain threshold was about as valuable as a powerful forehand in the singles championship at the Lexus of Las Vegas Open Sunday morning.
Aniko Kapros's shin splints and third-seeded Regina Kulikova's strained back kept both players limping, grimacing and frustrated throughout the match.
Ultimately, it was Kulikova who won the battle of attrition 6-2, 6-2 to capture the Las Vegas Open title and a champion's check of $7,315.

The battle for Henderson supremacy certainly lived up to its billing Friday night.
Del Sol and Basic, both previously undefeated, clashed in a classic see-saw game that ultimately came down to a last second field goal to determine who would retain the top spot in the Southeast Division.
Unfortunately for the Wolves, an unlikely hero stepped up for the Dragons as junior Jason Meuir launched himself at kicker Kevin Aviles to block the field goal and seal a 21-19 victory for Del Sol at home.

It takes a certain type of person to compete in the Red Bull Crashed Ice race.
The type of person willing to hurl himself down a 1,500-foot long ice track that weaves through downtown Quebec City as nearly 90,000 fans create a deafening roar for a sport that combines skiing and hockey.
A person who can ignore fear and reason in order to conquer jumps, hairpin turns, a 180-foot vertical drop and other racers trying their best to send each other crashing to the ice.
If Gabriel Andre can play hockey as well as he competes in Red Bull Crashed Ice, that reckless, yet skilled downhill skater might just become the newest member of the Las Vegas Wranglers.

Former teen sensation Mirjana Lucic continued her attempt to revive a once promising tennis career when in the final round of singles qualifying at the Lexus of Las Vegas Open on Tuesday.
Lucic, who held world rankings as high as No. 32 in singles and No. 19 in doubles back in 1998, defeated fellow Croat Ani Mijacika 6-4, 6-1 at the Red Rock Country Club to earn a spot in the main singles draw.

All week the Wildcats had to relive their narrow loss to Del Sol last Thursday and swallow the reality of breaking an 11-year, 30-game undefeated streak against Henderson teams.
