- One person is dead after a traffic accident around 11:35 p.m. Tuesday on an Interstate 15 off-ramp at Mesquite, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported. Trooper Jeremie Elliott said a Chevy Blazer rear-ended a tractor-trailer on the northbound off-ramp of the I-15 at Sandhill Boulevard. The accident killed the Blazer driver, Elliott said.

- A fire Tuesday night at a home in the eastern valley caused $75,000 in damages, said Clark County spokeswoman Stacey Welling. The Clark County Fire Department responded at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to reports of a fire at 4424 Lindenhurst Lane, near the intersection of East Russell Road and Mountain Vista Street, Welling said. Firefighters found the three-car garage consumed by fire, which was extending into the garage’s attic space and into the house.

- A stretch of northbound Interstate 15 in the northern valley will be shutting down nightly this week, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation. Northbound I-5 will be closed and traffic detoured between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. from the Lake Mead Boulevard exit to the Cheyenne Avenue exit, said Michelle Booth, a public information officer with the Nevada Department of Transportation. Work will continue Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, she said.

- A Sunday evening fire in a strip mall west of the UNLV campus has interrupted business at a pizza parlor. The Clark County Fire Department reported a water heater caught fire about 6:30 p.m. outside one of the businesses in the strip mall at 4640 Paradise Road, on the corner of Paradise and Naples. The fire then shot up an outside wall and extended to the roofing trim and roof of the Milano’s III Pizzeria.

According to Metro Police, a male and female approached the man the morning of June 9 in his driveway and asked him for an unspecified item. When he refused, the suspects robbed him. The two were later photographed at a business in the 3000 block of Pecos.
