Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run identified

The pedestrian killed Tuesday night in a hit-and run accident on Boulder Highway has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Las Vegas resident Frank Harry Martini, 50, died of multiple blunt-force trauma as a result of the accident, the Coroner’s Office said.

The accident occurred about 10:58 p.m. Tuesday, according to Metro Police. Martini was declared dead at 11:36 p.m. Tuesday at Sunrise Hospital.

According to witnesses, a 2004 Nissan Sentra was traveling north on Boulder Highway when it struck Martini, who was walking along an unmarked crosswalk.

The Nissan continued to drive away from the scene without stopping, but police later located the vehicle and driver. The driver has been arrested for DUI and hit and run.

The incident remains under investigation by the Metro Police’s Accident Investigation Section.

Martini’s death was the 63rd traffic-related fatality under the Metro Police’s jurisdiction this year.
