Missing woman in Sandy Valley

A Sandy Valley woman who missing Sunday evening – triggering a search by Metro Police officers, neighbors and family members – was found safe by her son on Monday night, officials said.

Gwen Doty, 58, left on foot from her home around 10 p.m. Sunday on an "extended walk," prompting officials to put out a missing persons alert, said Metro Lieutenant Hans Walters.

Doty was found alive and well about 6:40 p.m. by her son, Walters said.
