Coroner IDs driver killed Saturday in five-vehicle accident

The man killed in a multivehicle accident Saturday night has been identified by Clark County Coroner’s Office.

He is Robert Terrell Lawrence, 25, who was pronounced dead early Sunday at the scene of the accident in the eastern valley.

The accident occurred at 11:43 p.m. at the intersection of Boulder Highway and East Russell Road and involved three sport utility vehicles and two automobiles, Metro Police reported.

Witnesses told police that a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer went through a red light when it hit the right front of a 2005 Toyota Corolla traveling westbound on Russell Road. Police said the Corolla then hit a 2010 Nissan Rogue, sending it into a light pole. The Toyota struck the front of a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe and the Chevrolet Trailblazer struck the right front of a 2007 Nissan Sentra.

Lawrence was driving the Corolla. Three others were injured in the wreck and were treated at Sunrise Hospital with minor injuries.

The incident is still under investigation and no arrests have been made, said Laura Meltze, a Metro spokeswoman.

Lawrence’s death was the 64th traffic-related death this year under Metro’s jurisdiction.
