Durango 56, Sierra Vista 9

Pirates could struggle with Chris Jackson, but will find a way to win.

Picking blowouts is one thing. Insulting the kids by saying things like "Scheduling Pahrump Valley for homecoming was the smartest move Desert Oasis could have made." and "Raise your hand if you are ashamed this game is on the schedule." is wrong. I understand that your reader base is mostly adult males but you are still writing about kids. Kids who try very hard (I assume) and don't deserve to be beaten AND made fun of in print. The beatings are going to happen anyway. Do you really need to pile on?
Clark will beat Moapa
Clark will beat Moapa. I will do you one better Clark will make the playoffs in the 3 spot. Surprised? You will be.
Don't forget Clarks 3 loses came to top 10 teams including a toe to toe battle with #7 Durango that they had to turn the lights off twice to get the win.
I've always been a big supporter of Clark HS and was thrilled when the Chargers broke their four-year losing skid a few years back. I'm hoping they can sneak into the playoffs. ...As for saying schedule makers should be ashamed, that is strictly calling out officials who make Pahrump play in a league they will never be competitive in. Pahrump should be in the 3A or 2A. My alma mater, Chaparral, should join them -- along with Western, Sunrise Mountain, Mojave and a few others.
I agree with Ray..They need to regroup these teams the only division that has some type of compitition is the southeast..Gorman plays scrubs so they blow them out, if they did it like some states where they group the teams by how well they played the year before it would be more interesting to watch, and to me it would give the not so great teams the insentive to wan't to be a better team. Don't get me wrong Gorman is a great team but they are not challenged when they play certain teams, they need to play Vegas, Foothill, Liberty as part of their scheduled season.. those would be great games to watch..tired of reading blow outs against scrub teams..jus saying..
yokelking-
are you from pahrump?
Not from pahrump. Clark is a just better team, just like Green Valley was. Don't worry about me, it's Virgen Valley you should be worried about.
Not from Pahrump but you just comment on their articles and how you hope they get more students out to their games? And Moapa knows about Vrigin Valley. I'm hoping that the Bulldogs are more competitive this year. Last years 52-0 was pretty boring. I know Virgin hammered the Trojans, but then again 2A Mountain View Christian beat the Trojans. So Virgin probably looked pretty good when you saw them.
I hear Rosemary Clarke is pretty good though.
Just added Desert Pines/Rancho. Sorry to Jaguars and Rams fans, we just missed it on the schedule somehow.
Hey guys, here are my SE picks excluding Foothill's game because as an alumnus I refuse to pick their games haha
Liberty 32 - Green Valley 20
Coronado 21 - Del Sol 24
Basic 24 - Legacy 10
Don't know if Clark can beat Moapa tonight as they are pretty banged up right now...if it's any indication their freshman and JV teams both got blown off the field last night...Jackson will need to run wild for them to prevail and even that may not be enough.
Mr. Brewer, good call but a little thin on Arbor's points. Mr. Keefer, you need better reasoning than that!! Arbor wins due to an amazing defense. The corners are great and the linebacking core has done everything asked of it all year long. The offensive line will have their work cut out for them but they are up to the task. Arbor by a touchdown plus! Ball control will be the key to the game. A little more variation on the offensive side of the ball will be that extra little bit that makes the difference. Go Aggies.
THE CURSE OF BREWER EXISTS!!
Go figure. I lost one game this week -- Basic! ...Hey Dave, I was off by 40 points on that Arbor View total. BUT you needed four OTs to get there :)
Ray - Gotta be the proud Dad for a minute. Marco got knocked silly in the second quarter by trying to break the wedge on a kick off. Look at the third quarter stats for Cheyenne. Marco was pulled from the game at half time and didn't return. Cheyenne threw the ball to the boundry and had their way for a bit. My boy stays healthy, the boundry corner would have been locked down and there would not have been 16 points scored. But that is just me being a pround dad. That game was amazing. I have never seen a high school game like that as a fan or as a coach. Amazing. Arbor's players have an amazing will to win. Good for them and huge kudos to Cheyenne. They played their hearts out.
