Troy Miller passed for three touchdowns on Friday night to lead host Del Sol High to a 32-13 victory against Valley in the Sunrise Regional quarterfinals.
Del Sol, which is predominantly a running team, received more than 200 yards passing from its junior quarterback.
“We were pretty balanced tonight, which we need to be getting deeper into the playoffs,” Del Sol coach Preston Goroff said.
Miller, who led the Dragons to touchdowns on all but one of their first half possessions, started the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Evan Weinstock in the first quarter.
Miller also threw a scoring strike to Dezerick Reed, who added a pair of touchdown runs.
Valley’s Garic Wharton, an Arizona-commit, had two touchdowns runs, including breaking free for a 99-yard run in the third quarter.
“He blew right past us,” Goroff said.
Del Sol (10-1) will host Liberty in next week’s Sunrise Regional semifinals. Liberty handed the Dragons their lone loss earlier in the season, a 24-21 setback.

WHY is Dezerick Queen playing? I heard he kicked a player to end his regular season. Pushing, slapping might be ok, but kicking deserves the boot to his season. Hell, Del Sol did better without him in that game. Liberty will crush him again. His stats were inflated last time they played. He couldnt take the pounding. But Mr Evan will win the game
Del-Sol will win Fri. against Liberty if coach Goroff uses his offence diffrent.Reed is one best HS football players I have ever watched but he will be stopped again (or anybody else) if hes run up the middle 60% or more of the game.HELP HIM OUT and use the Shot Gun, Hurry UP Offence,QB Option,Speed,Arm.Throw to middle of the field ,its been open all season, when the linebackers move up to defend againt the run.The onside kicker needs more practice.GOOD LUCK DRAGONS. I HOPE YOU WIN IT ALL
