Bishop Gorman 48, Palo Verde 20

The days of this game being the best rivalry in town are numbered.

  1. Last Week 14-2 (inc. 3-1 N. DI) Season 151-30

    Truckee 33 Myloe Lewis 21
Snow showers expected Friday night with temps in the high 30's to low teens on Saturday. The bus ride up, the ambiance and weather combined with the hell of a football program across the field from him will be too much for Myloe to overcome on his own.

    Aggies 35 Bulldogs 28
Centennial believe they can win, Arbor already knows they can. If Arbor can replicate their defensive effort from the first time these two met, they'll win. It won't be easy as Centennial will throw everything they have in their playbook at the Aggies.

    Gaels 59 Panthers 21
More conservative than a bible-belt republican will be Rost's play calling. You can't wait until you're down by 30 to start taking chances. I hope, Rost obliges this rivalry but I think he will wait to actually try to win next year when Anu is gone. Palo's players always come out to punch Gorman in the mouth, they deserve their coach to leave it all out there just like everyone of them will. Do what Shadow Ridge coaches did and play to win.

    Gators 55 Falcons 28
Gators could play their JV and win, although they probably have more sophomores starting on varsity than some teams have on JV.

    Pioneers 42 Wolves 30
Boyd vs. Pumphrey round 2, a rivalry that will continue when they represent UNLV/San Diego State. If Pumphrey is healthy and plays all 4 quarters they win, if not Basic does it again.

    Cougars 44 Wildcats 21
It's crazy to me how Vegas managed to somehow show up in the coaches top ten poll last week.Coronado could shut them out but will pull their starters once the game is out of reach and prepare for rematch with Green Valley

    Patriots 42 Skyhawks 13
These two schools may only be a few blocks apart but they're miles apart in the football department. This will be the one and only easy game for the Patriots as every game from here on out will be a battle.

    Moapa Valley 38 Lowry 17
Everyone talked about Cheyenne and Desert Pines pre-season, Moapa and Truckee all regular season and nobody has mentioned a very capable Lowry. We already know what Moapa is capable of and unlike Cheyenne traveling up north, Lowry has already been here before. It will take a hell of an effort by Lowry to pull this off but it's not impossible.

    Reed 38 Spanish Springs 14
We already know who the better team is. The season ends here for Spanish Springs they better throw everything they've got at the Raiders.

    Damonte Ranch 28 McQueen 21
The 5-5 Lancers face the 5-5 Mustangs to advance further into the gauntlet of talent and credibility that is the northern playoffs. I'll root for the former local coach Dupris.

  2. Playoffs!!!!

    Div 1A

    Cheyenne over Truckee
This is my upset pick of the week. Dont know if Truckee can move those 2 big boys in the middle. If they cant, they lose. Snow or no snow, Myloe could get loose. But Truckee has something to prove this year and that is they can play with the big boys. Big hits in this game.

    Moapa over Lowery
The only thing that may stop Moapa is looking ahead to the championship game, they beat Lowery multiple times in the playoffs. Can they and will they stay focused and not over look someone who they have dominated

  3. Sunset Playoffs!

    Gorman over Palo
Always interesting game. Palo will play inspired. I dont think they have the fire power to sink the Gorman battleship. The new passing game will help Palo.

    Arbor over Centennial
Arbor will get them, it wont be easy but I think the game will go in Arbors favor. Centennial can win this game and wouldn't be a upset if they do win. They are a team on a mission.

  4. Sunrise Playoffs!

    Liberty over Silverado
Time for Liberty to start playing like the team that they say they are. Time to dominate

    Green Valley over Foothill
Foothill can score but dont play strong enough overall to beat Green Valley. Green Valley is no joke! They are real!

    Coronado over Las Vegas
Coronado is rough and ready to make a run. I wouldn't want to face them right now. They are confident and mean.

    Canyon over Basic
Game of the week! This game looks to be exciting with lots of big plays. Who ever can get some stops should win. Two grade A players in this one. I believe they both will put on a show.

  5. nice upset pick with Cheyenne over Truckee.. if there is any advantage Chey-town will have it's their size and the fact that if it's snowing the pass will be limited. Running, running and running that ball (albeit in snow) would be playing to Cheyenne's strength...although they would be doing that anyway. The downside of a one trick pony.

I give Myloe 3 td's just based on the fact that the guy will break loose at least a few times, that is a guarantee. But if Truckee can plug the hole then I wouldn't be shocked to only see 1 td by lewis in a very low scoring affair.

On the same token I wouldn't be shocked to see Myloe break 4 or 5 times. I just don't see Cheyenne's D helping out Myloe and making it happen although being that they're our southern rep i'll be rooting for them even though I'm picking against them.

Just a damn shame we will have to listen on the radio rather than watch this game.

  6. Hello HS football fans. I will be Qwixscoring the Liberty/Silverado game tonight. I think it may be closer than some believe. You can follow my live updates from the game at http://t.maxpreps.com/Vl4aC9.

  7. I wish I could see the Truckee Cheyenne game also. I was thinking about going out to Moapa to see them play Lowery but I have to work. I would like to see some of the Northern teams play.

  8. ditto with me coachearl, already took days off for state and semi for Div I couldn't swing Moapa's although i will get to see them if they play in the final.

I wish more teams scheduled non-league games between northern/southern teams. It would be great for speculation if Palo played McQueen or Liberty played Reed regular season. Even if it was .500 teams like Foothill or Silverado against whoever just sucks that of the very very few teams we have in this state they never play eachother when it comes to north/south outside of state.
