Case Keefer attempt to pick
the winning team from prep contests
across the Las Vegas area.
Keefer's Picks
Last Season
0-0
Wildcats make statement with lopsided win.
Las Vegas 42, Cimarron 7
Cimarron hasn't given up 42 points in three years, so it's a little closer.
Las Vegas 28, Cimarron 14
Wolf Pack wins another Jug Game.
Basic 32, Boulder City 13
Wolf Pack kick late field goal to keep the Jug for the 12th straight year and rip the Eagles hearts out.
Basic 24, Boulder City 21
I’m picking with Durango’s Juilio Mora every day of the week.
Durango 27, Del Sol 19
Both Brewer and I live in the Del Sol school district, at least one of us is proud of it.
Del Sol 34, Durango 21
Brandon Wright shows why he’s one of the city’s top prospects.
Palo Verde 39, Green Valley 6
Thayer Coon shows why he's one of the city's most underrated linebackers.
Palo Verde 35, Green Valley 7
Legacy’s L.J. McMorris is a star in the making.
Legacy 32, Spring Valley 15
Legacy's defense proves too much for the Grizzlies.
Legacy 13, Spring Valley 6
Upset special: I will take the athletic Vikes at home.
Valley 13, Desert Oasis 12
Get ready for the Heatley brothers, who will make Friday's game look more like a track meet.
Desert Oasis 41, Valley 16
Foothill is one of the area’s best kept secrets.
Foothill 30, Bonanza 19
Real tough game, but I'm practically the president of the DaSean Martin fan club.
Bonanza 28, Foothill 27
Shadow Ridge opens with a solid victory. .
Shadow Ridge 30, Sierra Vista 0
Shadow Ridge is getting a lot of hype for a team that went 1-8 last year, but it can have this one.
Shadow Ridge 27, Sierra Vista 20
Rancho’s junior class continues it winning ways.
Rancho 21, Arbor View 16
Arbor View hasn't lost a game outside of the Northwest in three years.
Arbor View 30, Rancho 14
Centennial gets first win in the Evans era.
Centennial 29, Clark 12
Look out for the Bulldogs bruising linebacker, Willie White.
Centennial 34, Clark 14
Desert Pines struggles away from home.
Pine View 43, Desert Pines 16
The Pine Bowl goes to the Jaguars, because Paul Bennet runs too professional of a program to let travel be a factor.
Desert Pines 26, Pine View 20
Moapa Valley is young up front, but still athletic enough to beat Utah school.
Moapa Valley 34, Desert Hills 20
Moapa Valley will have a terrific year, but the first two weeks will be tough.
Desert Hills 21, Moapa Valley 7
Virgin Valley is tough to beat in Mesquite.
Virgin Valley 23, Kanab 12
Looks like the Bulldogs are playing the Kansas City Royals and Zack Greinke can probably throw a wicked spiral.
Kanab 31, Virgin Valley 26
Bishop Gorman will bounce back behind a big game from Shaq Powell.
Bishop Gorman 31, Del Oro 12
The Gaels were noticeably rusty in their first game. No way Tony Sanchez allows that two weeks in a row.
Bishop Gorman 27, Del Oro 20

1. I saw DO scimmage tape- the Heatley brothers are soft. DO is absolutely brutal. Valley wins. Rancho is better, but still bad. Arbor View is physical. The best game of the week is Durango vs Del Sol. When talent is equal, coaching usually wine. In this case, Durango may be a bit more talented, but Goroff is a great coach and Maki is....
I think Spring Valley is gonna surprise Legacy, some key players will be out for Legacy..McMorris vs. 11 SPV guys, I'll take the numbers
No way Del Sol losses, they loose all of their players every year and they still find a way to win.
From everything I have heard, Spring Valley is bad. I agree that Del Sol always seems to reload and I am sure that they will be Top 2 in the SE. The game against Canyon is certainly 1 of the best this year. Canyon will be out to avenge the playoff game from '07 when the ref mysteriously declared that DeVonte Christopher was unfit to play.
FB4LYF, elaborate on what heard about Spring Valley, and where did that come from. Have you actually seen Spring Valley at all this summer?
Let 07' go, live for the now.
Del Sol wins. Their defense will shut down Julio Mora
How long is Legacy's DT Price out for? He wasn't even at the scrimmage against Durango.
I heard about Spring Valley from coaches who played against them at camp this Summer. The're rumored to be terrible. We'll see tonight.
@yalittle14 I heard Price is gone - moved to California.
Hey FB4LYF,
I was there at camp and I too saw a terrible squad, however, Spring Valley only brought about a third of the Varsity guys, I was there to watch my son and was highly disappointed with what I saw, but after this summer and seeing the new system I see alot of promise and we showed it tonight with a 13-12 win over Legacy, by the way, nice pick Keefer & Brewer, another pick against Spring Valley. As for Price, I heard tonight that he moveed to Pittsburgh.
Good call Ray on Shadow Ridge-tell Case it's time to believe the hype. Oh yeah, remember the DE I told you that dominated the Del Sol OL preseason All-City pick in scrimmage? He was a beast all night and recorded 3-4 sacks, terrorized SV's RBs & QB for losses and was 2-2, 25yds as TE. Chapparal is next...
papaG: Be gentle with my orange and black. Thanks, Ray, Chaparral class of 1994.
