Las Vegas Sun reporters Ray Brewer and Steve Silver start breaking down potential playoff match-ups as this week's slate of games will not greatly impact any postseason positioning.
Expanded coverage
Bishop Gorman running backs Victor Belen and Shaquille Powell both reached the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season as the Gaels raced past Clark 61-0.
Bishop Gorman is undefeated entering the playoffs, where it will play Cheyenne in the first round, and has gotten there in dominant fashion.
The Gaels have outscored opponents 541-44 this season.
“It hasn’t been that difficult of a road,” Bishop Gorman coach Tony Sanchez said. “But we’ve worked hard in practice and at the end of the day, we feel the biggest competition will be ourselves.”
In addition to Belen and Powell’s big nights, USC-bound tight end Xavier Grimble had 60 yards and a touchdown catch. Gorman was able to sub in its entire roster before the end of the night.
