Are Centennial, Canyon Springs in the elite?

There are topics aplenty on this week's episode after an eventful slate of games. Centennial and Canyon Springs, most notably, presented arguments for being included with the best teams in town. Are Las Vegas Sun sports reporters Ray Brewer and Case Keefer buying the Bulldogs and Pioneers? Listen in on the debate, a discussion on touchdown celebrations and a breakdown of this week's games.

The Arbor View High football team’s 28-19 victory Friday against visiting Green Valley might turn out being more significant than its blowout win last week against Desert Oasis to open the season.

Arbor View was shut out in the second half against Green Valley and had to hang on for the win.

“It’s easy to win big. But when you battle through adversity, it makes you a better team,” Arbor View coach Dan Barnson said. “We battled through adversity tonight.”

Arbor View rushed for 354 yards and led 28-7 at halftime. On the first possession of the third quarter, the Aggies drove the ball deep into Green Valley territory before turning the ball over. They never really threatened again and had problems guarding Green Valley’s up-tempo passing attack.

“Green Valley is a good team,” Barnson said. “That’s definitely a playoff team.”

Anthony Smith led Arbor View with 15 carries for 161 yards, and Larry Norman added 95 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Jimmie Finister contributed 108 yards rushing and a touchdown on eight carries.

Quarterback Rasheem Parks completed 3-of-4 passes for 49 yards, including a 22-yard scoring strike to his twin brother, Rasheed.
