There are topics aplenty on this week's episode after an eventful slate of games. Centennial and Canyon Springs, most notably, presented arguments for being included with the best teams in town. Are Las Vegas Sun sports reporters Ray Brewer and Case Keefer buying the Bulldogs and Pioneers? Listen in on the debate, a discussion on touchdown celebrations and a breakdown of this week's games.

  1. Last week was a very exciting week for HSFB here and imagine, most of the SE and NE teams haven't even started to play. Gives us so much to look forward to this season in addition to the IA. Will real SE teams Silverado and GV give Vegas a run for #2 in the NE? How good is Basic? Can Canyon keep focused and how far will Palo fall? So much to look forward to.

Funny that Hunky gave Pumphrey crap for that little celebration (which I thought wasn't nearly in as bad taste compared to some we've seen) when they were up by 40 with under a minute left Hunky was still throwing. I understand it was getting your 3rd string reps Hunky but you had the whole 2nd half for that that was classless move.

There's a massive difference between spiritual and religious. I know many other atheists who are spiritual but obviously not religious. As for the kids dropping to a knee, all you have to do is see the things most of them say or post on twitter to know who actually practices what they preach and who are the hypocrites.

Top team and elite team is different. Also I wouldn't have put Palo lower than Basic (although I love Basic) until Basic comes out and plays which at that point they could very well justify the ranking. Palo had a very close loss to the apparent #4 team in town..they're still solid for Vegas standards. It's clearly a down year for Palo but how much better have the other top 5 teams gotten? the drop off from the top 2 teams to the next 3 isn't nearly as bad as last few seasons.

I am glad I picked them to come in behind Arbor View this year looks like I'll be right. There's a solid chance that Palo could be starting the season 1-4 and still be the 6/7/8 best team in town.

Ray- Ayala (CA) won their first game big and their second by one point. They're also traveling. Would love to see IA Cheyenne win or at least not make us look bad. Depth will be a factor.

Truckee is the best team from the North, in any division. I still think Cheyenne beats them if they play down south but I think Truckee bests them when they travel north.

  2. "IF" is the largest word in the English language.
IF Cheyenne ends up as the #2 seed in the South, and IF Truckee can end up the #1 seed in the North, it should be a Great game...
I think we can all agree, that would be a fun game to watch.
Here is what it looks like in Truckee in the playoffs, in November...

  3. almost 500 and 9+ hour bus ride can be a lot to deal with. I've said it a million times but many south teams, better than their north counterpart, went north to lose. It will be a very interesting match up and if Cheyenne can go up and win then state final will be an easier game to win.

There's a lot of games to look forward to that would have been meaningless in years past... Cent vs Durango, Durango vs Basic, Canyon vs Chey/Liberty/Palo all got a hell of a lot more interesting and meaningful.
