Gorman in national spotlight

The Bishop Gorman High football team will be in the national spotlight Saturday when they travel to Northern California to face nationally respected De La Salle. The game will be televised by CBS College Sports, giving the Gaels a chance to make a splash — for themselves and the Las Vegas area.

Clark is no longer winless.

The Chargers overcame a first half full of mistakes to take down host Sierra Vista 32-14 Friday night. Clark trailed 14-6 at halftime.

The Chargers fumbled the ball six times in the first half and lost four of them. As soon as Clark calmed down with its turnovers, it took off on offense.

Both Chris Jackson and Derrick West scored touchdowns in the second half.

"You put the ball on the ground that many times and you're bound to be down at halftime," Clark coach Don Willis said. "But we came back strong. It feels good to get off the slide. We felt like we played real well last week but just didn’t get the win in the end.”

Clark nearly upset Durango last week but fell 28-24 in the end. They next face Western at home, while Sierra Vista hosts Durango.
