Team pages

Nick McDearmon passed for a pair of touchdowns and Gil Colon returned a fumble 70 yards for a score to lead Shadow Ridge past host Chaparral, 39-6.

McDearmon threw scoring strikes of 25 yards to Zach Ducksworth and 30 yards to Austin Jones. Marcus Williams added a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Shadow Ridge (2-0) was the lone Northwest Division team that didn’t open league play this week. It plays at defending league champion Legacy next week.

“We still have a lot of work to do,” Shadow Ridge coach Gabe Gledhill said. “We haven’t proven anything yet.”
