Anthony Sanders passed for three touchdowns and rushed for another Friday in leading the Valley High football team to a 60-16 victory against Sunrise Mountain.
Valley opened the season with six straight defeats but has won two of its last three games and is still mathematically alive for a playoff berth.
The Vikings close the season next week against Rancho, which has three wins in league play. A Valley win would put the Vikings in a three-way tie with Eldorado and Rancho for the final spot.
“I wish we could have got some wins in a few of those closer games earlier in the season,” Valley coach John Elwell said. “But I’m glad to still be alive and fighting.”
Brian Brunson and Royce Finley each had two touchdowns for the Vikings, while Rashad Richardson and Erik Edmondseach also scored.
