Las Vegas Sun reporters Case Keefer and Ray Brewer take a closer look at this week's slate of high school football games, including rivalry contests between Las Vegas-Rancho, Chaparral-Eldorado and Basic-Foothill. The fellas also discuss Liberty's slow starts, Gorman's domination and the lack of quality long snappers. They will also have their weekly picks.

Clark (3-4, 3-2) will enter its most important stretch of the season with some solid momentum.

The Chargers didn’t allow a Friday road trip to Pahrump Valley (0-6, 0-5) derail their goal of making the playoffs. They dominated the Trojans in a 52-14 victory.

“We’ve been a little banged up and don’t have all of our guys,” Clark coach Don Willis said. “We still had a great effort.”

Running back Chris Jackson scored a rushing and receiving touchdown for the Chargers. Quarterback Greg McKinney threw for nearly 200 yards and two touchdowns.

Clark finishes its season with games against Bonanza, Desert Oasis and Spring Valley. The Chargers would make the playoffs if they won all three games and most likely make it if they won two of three.

“These are huge games,” Willis said. “These are the teams we have struggled with the last few years. We’ve turned the ball over early and we’ve got to do a good job and not do that.”
