Las Vegas Sun reporters Ray Brewer and Steve Silver break down last week's lopsided high school football contests and preview this Friday's upcoming games. They also discuss the latest news on the neck injury to Shadow Ridge's Zak Hill.
The Foothill High defense forced nine turnovers and scored the winning touchdown on Friday night in a 12-0 victory against Liberty.
“Our defense played real well,” Foothill coach Marty Redmond said. “They played very physical and dominated.”
Rico Meeks’ 55-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the first half gave the Falcons the lead for good.
“The fumble recovery in the second quarter was huge,” Redmond said. “But our defense didn’t stop creating turnovers.”
The Falcons padded their lead in the final seconds of the first half when quarterback Parker Riggin threw a 5-yard touchdown to Tyrel Garner.
Both teams are now 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the Southeast Division.

good job boys. you did great!
I guess Liberty's new quarterback should play one game at a time and not predict what's going to happen the following week..."I guarantee you, next week Foothill won't score," Smith said. Way to go Falcon defense!
Foothill's defense did not dominate. The Pats' offense just did absolutely horrible. If you watch the game, they would drive down the field and just fumble. Foothill was inside Liberty's 30 at least five times and only scored once. Now you tell me whose defense dominated. However, I'm not gonna take anything away from Foothill, they won fair and square.
