One high school football player wouldn’t have been able to catch a beach ball on a breezy day, awkwardly attempting to haul in a pass that bounced off his open palm and then his head before falling helplessly to the turf. Another was easily pushed into the ground while attempting to pass block during a one-and-one drill — again and again, and on some plays, by a significantly smaller player.

UNLV's Alex Klorman never stopped believing he could play college football
Saturday, April 21, 2012
ray brewer: It wasn't always easy, but the walk-on has worked himself into the Rebels' defensive line rotation
Alex Klorman wasn’t good enough to receive a college football scholarship. It was the same humbling blow several high school stars are forced to accept each year. Despite a stellar career at Del Sol High in Las Vegas, the lineman was considered too slow, too small and not strong enough for a spot on a college roster. National signing day came and went, and Klorman was left without any substantial offers.
