The Clark County District Attorney's Office received records from North Las Vegas Police Department investigators Monday into the drowning of a toddler in a backyard hot tub at a home day care center.
No decision has been made about filing any criminal charges, a spokeswoman at the district attorney's office said.
An 18-month-old boy, Jordan Williams, drowned in a hot tub next to a swimming pool in the backyard of his day care center at 4731 Gunlock Circle in North Las Vegas on Jan. 13. Another 3-year-old boy was pulled from the hot tub, but survived. The children were not related.
Marisela's Family Day Care in North Las Vegas operated out of the back room of a home in the northeast valley.
A second toddler died after being pulled from a backyard swimming pool on Jan. 19, according to North Las Vegas Police, who are also investigating that drowning.
The Clark County coroner's office identified 2-year-old Emmanuel Alfredo Macedo of North Las Vegas as the victim in the latest case and ruled the death accidental.
The second drowning occurred in the 3100 block of Van Der Meer Street just south of Cheyenne Avenue, police said. The child was taken to North Vista Hospital where he later died.
