UPDATED STORY: Day care home had no complaints before drowning
The 1-year-old boy who drowned Tuesday afternoon in a pool in the backyard of a licensed day care home in North Las Vegas has been identified as Jordan Williams, the Clark County coroner's office said Wednesday morning.
The toddler and a 3-year-old boy fell into a pool about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at a residence at 4731 Gunlock Circle in North Las Vegas, said Chrissie Coon, spokeswoman for the North Las Vegas Police Department. The 3-year-old boy was listed in good condition at University Medical Center's Pediatric Unit, she said.
The children are not related.
Police are continuing to investigate the case and have closed the day care center operation until the investigation is complete, Coon said.
North Las Vegas police officers and paramedics found the 1-year-old boy not responsive and the 3-year-old boy conscious when they arrived at the home.

What parent in their right mind brings a kid to a home-run day care center that has an unfenced pool? To be honest I wouldn't leave my kid at ANY daycare much less one with a pool - fenced or otherwise. If this place was licensed then perhaps they need to review the licensing requirements because I would think a FENCE around a pool would be right there at the top of the list - along with pool covers, door alarms and NO doggie doors!
