Fatal shooting

A second man has died in a triple shooting that occurred Monday in a west Las Vegas Valley neighborhood.

Paul Armando Rodelo, 22, of Las Vegas was taken to a hospital and placed on life support after the shooting, which occurred about 12:25 p.m. Monday, Metro Police said. Rodelo has since died at the hospital.

The Clark County Coroner's Office said Tuesday that 20-year-old Juan Carlos Benitez of North Las Vegas died of multiple gunshot wounds. Benitez was pronounced dead at the scene in front of 5086 Edna Ave. near Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard, police said.

Police received reports of several shots being fired and when officers arrived at the scene they found a blue Ford F-150 with Texas license plates. The vehicle had run into a decorative stone wall to the south of an Edna Avenue home.

Police found cartridge casings from two weapons inside and outside the truck, a police report indicated.

Rodelo was taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit. A third man who had been in the Ford pickup was identified as Cesar Sosa, 21, who had left the truck and was found a short distance away. He was also taken to the hospital.

Witnesses told Metro homicide detectives that two men had been seen standing in the driveway of the Edna Avenue residence, one holding a rifle and another a gun.

Police arrested Jose Granados Jr., 20, and booked him on charges of murder with a deadly weapon and attempted murder with a deadly weapon, an arrest report said.

Police are looking for Richard Granados, 31, who left the residence in a 2006 Honda with California license plate 7@13664, which had been parked in the driveway of the Edna Avenue house.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro's Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
