One of three people shot Monday afternoon near Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard has died, Metro Police said.

Police received a call about 12:25 p.m. that shots had been fired in the 5000 block of West Edna Avenue at Edmond Street in Las Vegas, Officer Bill Cassell said.

Homicide detectives were questioning witnesses at the scene all afternoon. Police had not released any information about suspects.

Preliminary information released late Monday afternoon revealed that one of the three shooting victims was having an ongoing dispute with a man who lives at a residence in the same block where the shooting occurred, Cassell said.

As three men drove down the block on Edna in a Ford pickup truck, neighbors heard several gunshots, Cassell said.

The conditions of the two shooting victims are unknown. They were taken to a hospital for treatment, Cassell said.

Police brought a Citizens Area Transit (CAT) bus to the scene so witnesses could wait in air conditioning until homicide detectives could interview them, Cassell said.

Wynn and Roundy elementary schools were locked down while police investigated the shooting.

The identity of the man who was fatally wounded, as well as the cause and manner of his death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Anyone with information concerning this shooting is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 to remain anonymous, or the Metro Police Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521.
