Cimarron-Memorial's Stephen Nixon rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries Friday and the Spartans defense scored twice in a 33-6 victory against host Mojave.
Cimarron has scored four touchdowns on defense this year and three on special teams.
"We have been pretty fortunate on defense and with special teams to be able to score some points," Cimarron coach Rod Vollan said.
Tim Hasson got the scoring started for Cimarron in the first quarter against Mojave when he returned a fumble 30 yards for a touchdown.
James Carraway added to the scoring in the second quarter when he returned an interception 45 yards for a score.
James Poole added two touchdown runs for Cimarron, and Nixon rushed from 10 yards out.
"Our goal is to get better every week, and for the most part we have," Vollan said. "The improvement has been pretty consistent."
