Centennial rolls to easy win against Shadow Ridge

After struggling at times last week to score points, the Centennial High football team enjoyed an offensive breakout Friday in a 60-19 victory against host Shadow Ridge to remain undefeated.

Centennial, which only had 10 points last week midway through the fourth quarter, led 29-7 in the first quarter against Shadow Ridge.

No stats were made available to the Sun, but Centennial coach Leon Evans praised quarterback Austin Turley. He also was pleased with the defensive effort.

“Turley really threw the ball a lot better,” Evans said. “And our defense played well again.”

Centennial hosts Arbor View next week in what several feel will be the game of the week. Both teams rely on a power running game.

“Our game plan will be to continue feeding the ball to Newton,” Evans said of his senior running back Coby Newton.
