Thoughts on realignment, Centennial's challenge and Green Valley's latest romp

Las Vegas Sun sports reporters Ray Brewer and Case Keefer touch on every high school football team in the valley and more on this week's episode. The topics, rants and disagreements are at an all-time high, so brace your ears and get ready to take sides.

Brothers Calvin and Ryan Beaulieu accounted for four touchdowns Friday night to lead the Palo Verde High football team to a 44-20 victory against host Durango.

Durango led briefly in the second quarter, but Palo Verde closed the half with 20 unanswered points in taking the lead for good and remaining undefeated in Northwest League games.

Ryan Beaulieu, a senior, had a team-high 144 rushing yards. Calvin, a junior, finished with 47 yards on five carries.

Lee Griggs had 108 yards and two touchdowns for the Panthers, which won for the fifth straight game.

Next week, Palo Verde hosts Arbor View in a battle of undefeated Northwest teams for the league title.

“We’ll have to control the ball against (Arbor View) and make sure our defense is up to the challenge of playing well,” Palo Verde coach Darwin Rost said.
