Las Vegas Sun sports reporters Ray Brewer and Case Keefer are back with their weekly high school football podcast. This week's episode plays more like a variety show, as the two touch on a number of issues related to last week's gridiron action.

Boulder City is surging to end the season.

The Eagles have won two of their last three — and challenged Basic in a loss in between the two victories — to make a four-game losing streak a distant memory. Behind 147 rushing yards and 10 tackles from Tyler Washburn, Boulder City routed host Clark 33-7 Friday night.

“These last couple of weeks, we have fired off of the ball and gotten after it,” Boulder City coach Alex Kazel said. “There are small things we can correct, but they are playing more aggressive.”

Boulder City was ahead the whole way, but a key play came in the third quarter when it led only 20-7. The Eagles lined up in a punt formation, but ran a fake with D.J. Koopman.

Koopman gained 48 yards to set up Boulder City’s penultimate touchdown. James Morgan, J.D. Owens and Xavier Steel combined for an extra 128 rushing yards.

“That’s the great thing about it,” Kazel said. “We’ve got five or six guys who can move the ball for us.”
