A man accused of fatally shooting a man and injuring a woman at a northwest Las Vegas apartment complex earlier this month is allegedly involved with gangs and drug sales, according to a police report.

Officials arrested 27-year-old Donnell Patrick Pugh on Jan. 21 in Los Angeles and charged him in connection with the death of Charles McCullough at the Evergreen Apartments in the 5400 block of West Cheyenne Avenue.

Metro Police found McCullough, 26, dead from multiple gunshot wounds and a woman who was shot in the foot when they responded the afternoon of Jan. 15 to reports of shots fired at the apartment complex.

According to a warrant for his arrest, Pugh previously admitted to police that he is a member of the Hoover Crips and Wood street gangs, and neighbors said he allegedly had been dealing drugs from the apartment complex.

Prior to the shooting, Pugh allegedly told a family with three young children to go inside the apartment complex, the arrest warrant states. Minutes later, shots were fired, the family told police.

Authorities' preliminary investigation revealed that McCullough and an acquaintance had walked to the Evergreen Apartments to visit Jessica Green, who was shot in the foot, and her boyfriend, according to the arrest report.

Green and McCullough had walked back outside to the garbage area when Pugh tried to talk to Green. When McCullough told her not to talk to him, Pugh allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at the two victims several times, according to the arrest warrant.

Police said Pugh and another unidentified man allegedly fled in a silver, four-door vehicle after the shooting.

Pugh has been charged with murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm and carrying a concealed weapon, according to Clark County Detention Center records. He remains in the detention center without bail.
