A man killed in a double shooting Saturday afternoon that also wounded a woman in northwest Las Vegas has been identified as 26-year-old Charles McCullough, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Metro Police responded at 1:08 p.m. Saturday to the Evergreen Apartments in the 5400 block of West Cheyenne Avenue and found McCullough dead from multiple gunshot wounds and a woman who was shot in the foot. The coroner's office has officially ruled the death a homicide.

Authorities said McCullough and the woman were taking out trash when they were confronted by two men near the parking lot. Words were exchanged, then one suspect fired several shots at the victims, police said.

Police on Sunday released a description of the gunman. He was described as a heavy-set black man, about 23 or 24 years old, about 5-feet-8-inches tall and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jacket and a white T-shirt.

The suspects fled the scene in either a silver or white small vehicle in an unknown direction. The homicide was the second of the year in Metro's jurisdiction.
