The television cameras didn’t change much for Desert Oasis.
Like they have all season, the Diamondbacks leaned on fullback Devin Fortenberry and he delivered. Fortenberry had about 100 yards and two touchdowns as Desert Oasis beat Clark 35-7 in the weekly Thursday Night Lights game.
“He just does what he’s told and loves to win,” Desert Oasis coach Faron Seibel said. “You love kids like that.”
Seibel also had positive things to say about the Diamondbacks defense, which shut out an explosive Clark offense in the first half.
The victory finished Desert Oasis’ regular season slate and made the third-year school’s record 8-2. Barring a Durango upset against Bishop Gorman, Desert Oasis will play its first home playoff game in two weeks against Centennial.
