Cade Campbell’s interception return for a touchdown of about 60 yards Friday helped the Silverado High football team overcome an early first-half deficit and beat host Green Valley 23-12.
Izaiah Thurmon and Steven Scamorza added running touchdowns for the Skyhawks, which improved to 5-3 overall and 2-3 in the Southeast Division. Silverado needs a win next week against Del Sol to reach the playoffs.
“Defensively, we have been playing pretty solid most of the year,” Silverado coach Andy Ostolaza said. “That is what is carrying us right now.”

Interesting to note that Silverado beat Green Valley by only eleven when I heard that many Silverado players talked a lot of trash to Moapa players saying, "We aint no Green Valley" meaning Moapa losing to Green Valley by 1 signifies how "weak" Green Valley was suppose to be and that I guess Silverado would be putting the hurt on Green Valley, well eleven points is good but not great. Well I watched Moapa play Silverado last week and I'll give it to them, they were big and good, BUT apparently you had either a really good week against Moapa, OR you had a really bad week for Green Valley. They'll pick the latter but who knows...
