Metro Police said Chris Scott Kiser, the man arrested in connection with a hit-and-run Monday night on the Las Vegas Strip, has been charged with several misdemeanors.

Police said Kiser drove his black pickup truck onto a sidewalk at 7:20 p.m. Monday in front of Margaritaville Las Vegas, 3555 Las Vegas Boulevard South, and struck three pedestrians before leaving the scene.

All three pedestrians were transported to UMC Trauma, but none of them had life-threatening injuries, according to Lt. Dennis Flynn, Metro watch commander on Monday night.

Metro spokeswoman Barbara Morgan said Kiser was charged with unsafe lane change, failure to render aid in an accident, failure to surrender driver's license to a police officer and failure to report a traffic accident. These misdemeanors could be upgraded to felonies if the pedestrians' injuries are determined to be more severe, she said.

A Nevada Highway Patrol trooper stopped Kiser's pickup truck at 1:37 a.m. near the Maryland Parkway and Windmill Lane intersection.

During that traffic stop, Trooper Chelita Rojas said Kiser was charged with drunken driving, failure to maintain a lane, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with an out-of-state suspended license.

Authorities do not know the current conditions of the pedestrians.
