Las Vegas Sun reporters Ray Brewer and Steve Silver start breaking down potential playoff match-ups as this week's slate of games will not greatly impact any postseason positioning.
Expanded coverage
Rancho hasn’t compiled a great season, but Harvey Yarbrough has made some great plays.
Yarbrough returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown Thursday night as Rancho beat Chaparral 41-32 for its second win of the season.
“He’s been doing well all season,” Rancho coach Elvin Dick said. “He’s been playing well on defense and on offense. We’ve had a tough time getting the ball to him.”
Rancho is out of the playoff race and will play its last game of the season against Las Vegas next Thursday.
“All the wrongs of the whole year can be righted next Thursday against Vegas if we go and play them well,” Dick said.
