Las Vegas Sun reporters Ray Brewer and Steve Silver break down last week's lopsided high school football contests and preview this Friday's upcoming games. They also discuss the latest news on the neck injury to Shadow Ridge's Zak Hill.
Desert Oasis running back C.J. Hunt rushed for three touchdowns on Friday night in a 23-6 victory against visiting Spring Valley.
Desert Oasis (3-3, 3-2 Southwest Division) coach Faron Seibel credits his team’s defense in the win. They only surrendered 29 yards in the first half, he said.
“Our defense played outstanding,” Seibel said. “We came out, played well and they never got going.”
It was the second straight loss for Spring Valley (3-3, 3-2 Southwest).
“We didn’t do anything right on offense,” Spring Valley coach Kelly Murphy said. “We absolutely stunk.”

This coach Murphy has lost control of this team. There dehumanizing ways they talk to theses players and lack of conditioning shows out on the field.
The players have no RESPECT for this head coach & his father. It like a freak show.
They have talent but its all seated on the side lines.#19 is the best back and he might play 3plays. #7 is hands down the best QB.TAKE YOR HEAD OUT OF YOUR BACK SIDE AND GIVE THESES KIDS A CHANCE TO WIN OR GO BACK TO WHERE YOU ARE FROM.
THE COACHING NEEDS TO CHANGE NOT THE GAME
I agree with the coaching change, he plays the same players throughout the entire game so what is the point of having the players on the sideline. The whole team practice hard all week only to see the same players in the games every week. The coach has no idea how the other kids play because they never play. The QB can't seem to hold on to the ball but the coach thinks he is the best around, I guess he never heard of replacement players. So that will be the reason Spring Valley may not see another win this season, Spring Valley needs another coach soon or they will never make it to another play-off. The bottom line it's not the kids they do practice hard, they just have a coach that does not understand that it takes an entire team to win not just a select few. So next week I won't be surprise when Pahrump wins against them. The coach sucks!!
