A Las Vegas man charged in the western valley shooting death of another man pleaded not guilty at his arraignment today in District Court and asked the judge for a speedy trial.

Tracy Petkovich, 48, is charged with first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon. He's also charged with burglary with a deadly weapon.

Petkovich is being held without bail on the murder charge.

Judge Kevin Williams set a trial for June 30.

Police arrested Petkovich without a struggle on April 16 after responding to a domestic violence call and reports of gunshots being fired.

When officers arrived to a house in the 6800 block of Endora Drive, near Flamingo Road and South Rainbow Boulevard, they found Petkovich and a dead man later identified as Douglas Teed.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office determined Teed, 54, died from a gunshot wound to the chest and his death was ruled a homicide.

An elderly woman inside the home at the time of the shooting was not injured.
