A man who was found dead inside a southwestern Las Vegas Valley residence Thursday has been identified as 54-year-old Douglas Teed, the Clark County Coroner's Office said today.

The cause and manner of death have not been determined, a coroner's spokeswoman said.

Metro Police arrested one man when they responded at 9:58 a.m. Thursday to the 6800 block of Endora Drive, near Flamingo Road and South Rainbow Boulevard, to investigate a report of shots fired on a domestic violence call.

Officers encountered a man later identified as 48-year-old Tracy Petkovich, who was standing in the door of a home armed with a gun.

Police said they were able to take Petkovich into custody without a struggle. When officers entered the residence, they found a person dead from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, police said.

Homicide detectives arrested Petkovich after a preliminary investigation. He was taken to the Clark County Detention Center and booked on a charge of murder with the use of a deadly weapon as well as a charge of burglary with a deadly weapon. There is no bail on the homicide charge and a $15,000 bail was set for the burglary charge, according to Clark County Detention Center records.

An elderly woman inside the home at the time of the shooting was not injured.
