Police: Teen charged in sex assault threatened to kill

A 16-year-old boy who has been charged as an adult in a sexual assault case grabbed a woman from a bus stop and took her to a vacant house, according to a Metro Police arrest report.

Tyquie Triplett has been charged with four counts of sexual assault and one count of first-degree kidnapping, police said. He was arrested Aug. 5 after the incident on the west side of the Las Vegas Valley, police said.

According to an arrest report, Triplett approached the 37-year-old woman as she sat at a bus stop on H Street and Lake Mead Drive about 4:15 a.m. Aug. 5. He asked the woman when a bus would arrive, and she answered about 10 minutes, the report said.

The teenager then sat next to the woman and grabbed her arm, pulling her off the bench, the arrest report said. He told her not to scream and that he had a gun and would kill her if she made a scene.

Triplett and the woman went to a vacant house on Kasper Avenue, where he told the woman to undress. He then sexually assault her, the report said.

Triplett allegedly slapped her across the face with an open hand, then told the woman to go to another room. The woman told police she was afraid she was going to be killed.

He left the house and the woman grabbed her clothing, got dressed, ran home and called police, the report said.

The woman identified Triplett after he was spotted and detained about 8 p.m. Aug. 5 near Owens and Eastern avenues, the report said. He was carrying a cell phone belonging to the woman and had taken some jewelry and a bus pass.
