Chicken Ranch brothel owner Kenneth Green today detailed plans for his new company, Regulated Management LLC, which he said would expose illegal prostitution in Las Vegas and lead a public effort to demand government deal with the problem.
The company also unveiled a Web site on the effort, www.regulatedmanagement.com. Green noted he has a financial interest in a crackdown on the illegal sex trade since his legal brothel is 60 miles away in Nye County.
"I have a vested interest and that’s why I’m stepping forward,’’ he said.
He said it’s frustrating that in one sense, Nevada "gets it," as it has a system of legal, regulated brothels in rural counties. Yet in the most populous counties, Clark and Washoe -- home to Las Vegas and Reno -- it’s illegal.
But asked if one of the goals of the business is having prostitution legalized in Clark and Washoe counties, Green said: "That’s not my job. That’s the Legislature’s job."
Regulated Management says the illegal sex trade in Las Vegas is a multibillion dollar, untaxed and unregulated industry that is an embarrassment to the community with residents and tourists exposed to the likes of "Hot Babes Direct to Your Room" advertising, smut racks and the aggressive passing out of sex industry business cards to pedestrians on the Las Vegas Strip.
"What is most frustrating is that everyone acknowledges its existence, but all too many turn a 'blind eye' to it and fail to take action," Green said.

He's going to expose prostitution in Vegas? That's hilarious!!!!
Like, everyone doesn't know there's prostitution in Vegas already.
Dear Mr. Green please be informed Vegas protects its tourist's rights' to privacy through its unenforced illicit prostitution ruse.
Arresting prostitutes diminishes the allure tourists seek in cumin to Vegas, while arresting tourists engaging in concentual private matters diminishes the likelyhood of their return.
As you know, Nevadans are all better off when our tourists keep cumin.
We do understand your concerns, particularly during these tough economic times up on the ranch.
However, please feel free to gives us a call back when you've achieved a firmer grip around reality.
LOL...what's next-wanting to restrict the number of slot machines on the strip?
Hate to break it to you, but most tourists aren't going to drive 60 miles in BFE to get their rocks off-and you are SMOKING CRACK if you think that you're going to get a large scale crackdown on it in LV.
Ahhhh, I think it's time for a massage.
I am happy to know that folks can drive 60 miles and go to a legal brothel. As a woman, a Las Vegas resident and a non-prostitute, I am relieved that people can go to Nye county for this special service. I do think, however, it should also be legalized, at least in some parts of Clark County at the very minimum, so this service is available, taxed, safe and without worry of going to jail for those patrons who wish to purchase this type of service. I think it is disgusting that it is blatently all over the Las Vegas strip, advertised and bascially thrown in your face (if you will) by people handing out flyers on the strip. Make it legal and make it descrete for goodness sakes. There are children on the strip with their parents who should not see this type of adversting. I see street walkers constantly and wonder about their safety. There should at least be a red light district in Clark County where it would be legal and safe.
One other comment, I think the menu billboards on the way into Nye County of the Chicken Ranch is very well done and tasteful. Some people come to Nevada just to patronize the famous Chicken Ranch. I think it is a good thing!
Make it legal, make is safe, tax it. Its a win-win for all of us.
This happens to be the second article by the SUN's Steve Green regarding Mr. Kenneth Green's grievance in the past two days!
Oddly the previous article isn't cited in the archives section on the right, so I've included the link below.
Any relationship between these Greens would merely be suspect.
LOL
Ever notice how the SUN repackages the same stories to readers, like Time Life music CD's?
This is not news but rather a consumer awareness adver'tease'ment indicating that the Chicken Ranch is seeking your patronage without paying typical adverteasing costs.
Safe to assume times are tough up on the ol' ranch. huh?
Thanks SUN i.e. the 'Green Team', for 'repeatingly' providing this very important service announcement to readers 'repeatedly'.
LOL

It just wouldn't be Las Vegas without the "Hot babes" offering room service.
Thanks for the comments -- Kenneth and I are not related
His place is too far away. Besides it is cheaper here. Besides, I am home within an hour
Sorry: Geen with envy
He can bark all he wants but no law maker will listen. There's too much money involved.
Remember, if a little dog barks too much and continually disturbs the neighbors it usually ends up with a bullet in it's head or munching on some spiked steak.
Honestly, you'd have to be borderline retarded to drive an hour to have a meal somewhere you've never been before when you have hundreds of buffets up & down the strip.

what he wants to do is shame the politicians into doing something like make it legal ,That what this is all about ..
As far as money goes their far more money in it if the state makes legal in Vegas then if it stays illegal And it would be safer and cleaner than it is now. safer for the ladies and for the customers. They should make red light districts, where the ladies can be kept safe.
Then going to some strangers room/house and being beaten rape or killed, and for those of you who think it doesn't happen very often then it is you that have your head in the sand, while you have your head in the sand say hi to our politicians who look the other way and don't care what happens to these women or their clients.
Just so long as they get that vote to keep their job that's really all they care about.
"They should make red light districts, where the ladies can be kept safe."
FREMONT STREET "Experience"
It is totaly INSANE that prostitution is not legal in Clark County.
Vegas was built on sin, thats why everyone comes here.
A few years ago our mayor Oscar suggested having a red light district on Freemont St, a great idea that made total sense but sadly a small group of idiots bitched about it so Oscar had to fold under the presure,, very sad.
YES, Vegas should have a red light district and Freemont St would be perfect for it.
Cheers

Bobbi is right...the politicians need to be shamed into doing something about this. The state is 3 billion in the hole and the pimps are getting rich and not paying taxes. Just not these guys. http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2009/mar...
So, is Mr Green going to take on places like Crazy Horse, all the Strip joints, all the Casinos that send the "girls" up to the guests rooms? What a joke! Geez, I was born in Vegas, who's he trying to BS? <eyeroll>
Again you Linda and others here have miss the point it not that he going after anybody. what Mr green and others brothel owners would like is to make it legal or enforce the laws an go after the illegal trade and stop tying the hands of the legal owners . Until three years ago it was illegal for the legal brothels to advertise.
At the same time legal brothels were not allowed by law to advertise there were billboards in Vegas saying hot babes to your room rolling bill boards saying the same thing ...
Even when the Brothels won there case in court to advertise in stead of just letting it be they appealed the Ruling.
I think What the owners what is to be treated fairly by the state.
Make it legal or not you can't have it both ways
