Juvenile stabbed to death in church parking lot

Update: Boy, 17, stabbed to death in church parking lot identified

Metro Police are investigating a stabbing that led to a juvenile's death in a church parking lot in the northwestern Las Vegas Valley this afternoon.

The juvenile was stabbed in the parking lot of Christ Church Lutheran, 111 N. Torrey Pines Drive near Dimming Avenue about 2:38 p.m., police said.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. He died shortly after reaching the hospital, police said.

The child care center at the church was evacuated as a precaution, police said.

No suspect is in custody at this time.

Metro Police officers and homicide detectives are on the scene, questioning witnesses and gathering evidence, police said.
