Boy, 17, stabbed to death in church parking lot identified

The 17-year-old boy stabbed to death in the northwestern part of Las Vegas Valley on Wednesday afternoon has been identified as Richard Leroy Martinez of Las Vegas, the Clark County coroner's office said.
Metro Police are investigating the incident that occurred near the Christ Church Lutheran, 111 N. Torrey Pines Drive near Dimming Avenue about 2:38 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
The victim was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. He died shortly after reaching the hospital, police said.
No suspect is in custody at this time.
Metro Police officers and homicide detectives spent hours at the scene, questioning witnesses and gathering evidence, police said.
