Curcio is not replacing Gulutzan

The Canadian press is abuzz with speculation that former London Knights assistant coach Pat Curcio is headed to Las Vegas to take Glen Gulutzan's spot as the head coach and general manager of the Las Vegas Wranglers.

Curcio resigned from his position with the Ontario Hockey League's Knights on Wednesday to pursue what he said was a chance to possibly coach with an NHL-affiliated organization.

"As of now there is nothing else going on," Curcio said. "The only news is that I resigned from the Knights."

Curcio declined to name which club he was supposedly headed to, but he did discuss his apparent move to Las Vegas.

"There is no truth to the speculation about me coming to Las Vegas," Curcio said. "I'm not sure how those rumors got started, but it’s absolutely not true."

The Wranglers' front office echoed Curcio in saying that there is no truth to any reports of coaching or ownership changes.
