The ECHL fined Stockton Thunder forward Garet Hunt an undisclosed amount of money Tuesday for his unsportsmanlike conduct during the third period of Monday's Pacific Division finals game 5 at the Orleans Arena.
Although the ECHL announced the fine for a third period incident, Hunt's blatant violation of the rules came late in the second period when he sucker punched Wranglers defenseman Dan Spang in the face after a stoppage in play.
Hunt received a roughing penalty for the infraction, which subsequently led to a power play goal by Spang.
