AHL returnees boost roster

The Las Vegas Wranglers received a major dose of AHL talent Monday thanks to the return of defenseman Dan Spang as well as forwards J.D. Watt and Mike Hamilton.

The trio rejoined the squad just in time for a three-game road stretch in their Pacific Division semifinal series with the Bakersfield Condors. Las Vegas is currently tied 1-1 with Bakersfield in the best-of-seven series and are preparing for games three, four and five at Rabobank Arena beginning Wednesday night.

Spang, who spent the last 24 games with the Syracuse Crunch, will make his professional playoff debut at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Spang notched 13 points in his time with Syracuse.

The always-physical Watt returns from the Quad City Flames where he appeared in 42 games. Watt racked up 146 penalty minutes during that span. Earlier this season Watt recorded 14 points in 18 games with the Wranglers.

Hamilton, who helped the Chicago Wolves win the Calder Cup last season, just finished a 30-game stint with the Wolves where he tallied three goals and five points. Hamilton also put up five points in 17 games with the AHL's Houston Aeros this season.
