Taylor to AHL, St. Croix returns

Defenseman Chris St. Croix returned to the Las Vegas Wranglers after a scoreless six-game stint with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

The 29-year-old St. Croix has notched seven points in 41 games with the Wranglers this season and he will surely add a much needed physical and veteran presence as Las Vegas prepares to defend its National Conference title.

Las Vegas did lose a potent point producer Thursday, though, as the Wranglers loaned forward Justin Taylor to the Chicago Wolves (AHL). Taylor recorded four points in three previous stops in Chicago. With Las Vegas, Taylor has 13 goals and 17 assists in 36 games this season.

The Wranglers also signed two rookie forwards Thursday.

Kevin DeVergillio of St. Lawrence University and Garret Regan of Notre Dame should make their professional debuts this weekend as the Wranglers (32-31-8) close out the regular season against the Stockton Thunder (32-31-7) Friday and Saturday nights at the Orleans Arena.
